I often refer to myself as the displaced Texan, though I haven't lived in my home state since 2007. I may no longer live in the Friendship State, but as they say, you can take a girl out of Texas (or fill in whatever state has your heart), but you can't take the Texas (see above note) out of the girl! My little family of four (#boymom) live in a cute little house in a cute little neighborhood in a very big state on the west coast. And in my backyard sits my porch swing—the place where I can find peace, think, laugh at my boys, read, reflect, and think about the next thing I want to write.
On that note, I am a writer. A wordsmith. A teller of stories. Sometimes my own. Sometimes of others. It is my hope that you can find inspiration on these pages, and you can feel the pure authenticity of my voice. Because, we Texans, well, we wear our hearts on our sleeves. And these words come from my heart.
In this blog, you'll find posts about parenting, wellness, travel, lifestyle, perhaps a little DIY, and really anything that comes to my mind.
And if you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods, I hope you'll join me on my porch swing.
